Wednesday 4th February - walks **** – Holywells Park ad Ipswich waterfront – sunny periods with light winds.

Raw indeed we actually woke this morning with fairly clear sky's and no rain so I thought I would head down to Felixstowe seafront to catch the sunrise, as I am full of cold again I decided to drive, leaving home at 7. After a ride along the front as I was a little early I parked near the town hall and walked down to the beach to get ready with the tide being very low and the rocks were out! A small patch of mackerel sky turned briefly red at 7.15 and I was lucky enough to get a pic of that on this evenings Look East, my 3rd photo on the BBC this week, definitely on a roll, might even have a day off tomorrow as the rain is returning:( I waited for the sun to make an appearance and took a pic which included a 4m long tree trunk with a nice root, I then went home for my saw and cut a metre piece which now looks great in our garden! I did have a quick drive down to the view point to snap the pink container ship with the Orwell very low, sadly the sun had already disappeared!
By the time I had sorted my pics and had breakfast, my laptop is now operating at snails pace I decided to give my exercises a miss, pack a picnic and drive over to Holywells Park in Ipswich. The sun had returned and with the wind light it was pleasant to be out and about, we did a circuit of the lovely park spotting a few squirrels and robins, for a change the duck weed had died back and you could actually see the water! We found a nice bench by a small lake near the kids play park for lunch and were quickly joined by some ducks and gulls, luckily we had a tube of bird food with us! We then continued down to Ipswich waterfront, turning just past the old barge, a nice young man said he had just seen a seal but we didn’t see it. We then took the scenic route home and spotted the Levington deer, it makes all the difference having the sun out, a nice day:)
